About SIGURA PROMETEU & CONSULT
The extremely rapid development of SIGURA TOTAL FIRE & BUILDING ENGINEERING SRL (set up in 2003) by the diversification of serviced rendered and of client portfolio had consequently imposed the specialization of offer through the support of separate organizational structures. Thus, was set up SIGURA PROMETEU & CONSULT SRL, in 2005, having as main activity object development of training curses for fire safety specialists, according to the severe quality standards imposed by the European Community. Present day Romania, as European Union member, makes great efforts to reduce existent differences and to be able to be in line with community requests both from the point of view of new occupations and new structures in fire safety field. Last legislative and organizational transformations in the above mentioned field confirms these efforts.
The training of Romanian specialists in the field of fire safety according to the new European standards imposed the setting up of a new distinct structure within SIGURA TOTAL FIRE & BUILDING ENGINEERING SRL dedicated to these specific activities:
- on one hand, respecting the Romanian laws in regards to the training of personnel (distinct firm having this object of activity, accredited by the Romanian competent organisms etc.)
- on the other hand, to be in line with the general offer of SIGURA firms and to undertake all other complementary activities already existent in the portfolio (consultancy, fire safety assessment, personnel training, fire risk analysis etc.)
Comparing Romania’s situation with the other European countries in regards to the fire safety activities, it was concluded that there is needed for the recognition and implementation of a new professional occupation: “Fire Safety Manager”. This new occupation will be applicable in almost all companies in the economic field in our country, having the status of a permanent full time position in the organizational chart of these companies. This occupation was already set up in all developed countries all around the world, but not in Romania. In 2005 it had to be introduced in COR (Romanian Occupations Code), approved by the competent organisms (National Council for Adult Professional Training – CNFPA) and actively implemented with the help of training courses in national economic structures.
SIGURA PROMETEU & CONSULT SRL courageously took upon itself all these tasks wanting to actively contribute to the structuring of the future Romanian fire safety legislation: with the aim to create a unitary, modern concept in the field of training civil fire safety specialists.
In a short period, this firm has achieved its proposed goals:
a) has succeeded to introduce the following two occupation in COR:
"Fire Safety Manager" (COR code 123.906), enacted by its publication in the Official Monitor no. 46 / 18.01.2006)
"Fire Safety Coordinator Specialist" (COR code 315.103), enacted by its publication in the Official Monitor no. 234 / 13.03.2006)
b) has obtained CNFPA’s accreditation for the organization of these courses;
c) has elaborated occupational standards for these professions (standards R34 and R54 that can be accessed on the CNFPA website);
d) has successfully begun the development of the training course and at present the first generations of "Fire Safety Manager" and "Fire Safety Coordinator Specialist" are already occupying their positions within Romanian economic companies.
Undertaking from SIGURA TOTAL FIRE & BUILDING ENGINEERING SRL – the main company – the fire safety management consultancy part, SIGURA PROMETEU & CONSULT offers a coherent and comprising package of complex services in this specific field:
- Fire expertise and risk analysis;
- Personnel training;
- fire safety assessment;
- Consultancy and technical assistance in the field of fire protection at civilian and industrial buildings / old and historical buildings, being in different stages of design, execution or exploitation;
- Professional training for the following occupations:
- "Fire Safety Manager" (COR code 123.906);
- "Fire Safety Coordinator Specialist" (COR code 315.103).
In the future, the company proposes to consistently organize and promote the introduction of the new world directions in the field of fire safety management and engineering within specialized organizational structures – the creation of the Prometeu education center. This Center will undertake:
- Fire safety consultancy and technical assistance activities;
- Fire expertise and risk analysis;
- Personnel training;
- fire safety assessment.
